Mobile devices and subscribers vs population

As we announced beginning of October 2014, the global penetration rate of mobile devices finally reached the mark of 100% of the world population. We expect this rate to continue on the same trend to reach 130% of the world population by 2018. M2M and wearable devices are high contributors to this trend. Moreover, when looking at the proportion of the population subscribing to a mobile network, we observe a certain degree of saturation. Compared against global population, mobile subscribers will go from 47% in 2013 to 53% in 2018. So, nearly half of the world population is not a mobile subscriber. As such, it is not surprising to observe that the average number of mobile devices per subscriber will reach 2.4 in 2018 from 2.0 in 2013.
