Mobile video still leading, but audio streaming to become the second most important source

It is estimated that in 2013, mobile video represented about 55% of all mobile traffic in Canada and that it should continue to grow, up to 67% by 2018. Mobile audio streaming is expected to become the second most important source of mobile traffic by 2016 and should represent 19% of all traffic by 2018. Machine-to-Machine traffic represented only 0.5% of all traffic in 2013 but is expected to grow and reach 7.4% by 2018. File sharing's importance is expected to remain relatively stable between 5% to 6%. All these sources of content will make pure mobile data traffic, mainly internet access, less and less important in comparison. From 27% of all traffic in 2013, mobile data traffic's importance is now expected to drastically decrease and represent about 1% of all mobile traffic by 2018.
