Origin is selected by the City of Saguenay for engineering services in radiocommunication

Origin has been selected by the City of Saguenay to provide professional engineering services in radiocommunication. This mandate covers preliminary engineering for the installation of a new digital radio system serving the police, firefighter, public works and Hydro-Jonquiere. The mandate is to identify, design and estimate the optimal radio architecture that best meets the needs of the City of Saguenay, taking into account their territory, topography, needs of users as well as technical, legal and budgetary constraints.

As part of the agreement, Origin will assist the City of Saguenay in the following steps: radio coverage simulation, evaluation of their existing infrastructure, approach private companies for space rental, validation of user needs and requirements, evaluation of requirements for their dispatch centers including the voice recording system, traffic studies, discussions and preparation of documentation for Industry Canada, definition and validation of the characteristics of the architecture supporting the infrastructure, design of microwave links between sites, validation of the encryption technology to privilege for public safety communications, evaluation of potential interconnection with the cellular network (Push-To-Talk over Cellular - PoC) and evaluation of opportunities for telemetry and data transmission.
